Our Team
Brian Golub, an original founder of the firm and managing partner, has been providing accounting and financial services since 1974. Mr. Golub, a former chairman on the NYSSCPA committee on small business, services a wide variety of businesses as an outside CFO. As a member of both the AICPA and NYSSCPA, his participation at various levels of committee’s is extensive. Mr. Golub received his BBA from Hofstra University in 1974, and joined the predecessor firm of Soba & Soba, CPA’s immediately thereafter. Serving as the managing partner from 1980 until joining with another partner to form the new firm in 1982.
Mr. Golub has participated in the representation of clients at all levels of tax audits, and has provided tax planning for both individual and corporate clients.

Joseph G. LaCapra, CPA, ESQ. began his career with the firm of Soba & Soba as a junior accountant in 1978. It is there that he met Brian Golub, with whom he would eventually become partners, in the successor firm. Mr. LaCapra received his Bachelor of Science Degree from C. W. Post Center, a division of Long Island University located in Greenvale, New York. He went on to receive his Masters his Masters of Business Administration from Adelphi University, located in Garden City, New York. Mr. LaCapra subsequently entered Touro Law School, located in Huntington, New York from which he received his Degree of Juris Doctor. He is admitted to practice law in the States of New York and Connecticut.
Mr. LaCapra concentrates his part of the accounting practice with small to medium size businesses. His services include tax compliance reporting, financial reporting, financial planning and estate planning.
In addition to his partnership duties in the accounting firm, Mr. LaCapra has become a partner in the law firm of LaCapra, Salz & Kowalski located in Central Islip, New York. He concentrates his law practice in the fields of commercial transactions and litigation, wills, trusts and estates, family law, criminal law and personal injury.

Steven V. DeTiberiis, CPA earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from St. Joseph’s College in 1987. Shortly thereafter he joined Eaton Corporation in their AIL Division where he worked as a staff accountant. In 1988 he joined the current accounting firm and was admitted as partner in 1998.
Currently, Mr. DeTiberiis services a broad base of clientele ranging from retail to manufacturing with a strong concentration in the dental and medical professions. As a member of both the AICPA and NYSSCPA, he sits on various committees and is active in his community. His professional and personal experience affords Mr. DeTiberiis the ability to tailor the service that he provides to the specific needs of his clients.

Beverly Zaza CPA earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Queens College in 1986. She became a licensed CPA in 1990. After graduating college she worked as in investment advisor for Dean Witter Reynolds. She then joined Ross Strent & Co, a public accounting firm. Beverly next worked as a CFO for a businessman who owned various corporations before joining her current firm in 1990 and becoming a partner in 2004. Miss Zaza is a member of both the AICPA and NYSSCPA. Beverly's diverse background affords her the ability to see business from a different perspective than most accountants. Her fields of expertise include construction, real estate and multi state tax issues.

Jacquelyn James-Varga has been a partner with the Firm since 2004. She was graduated from the New York Institute of Technology, Summa Cum Laude, with a Bachelors Degree in Accounting. Jacquelyn is the four time recipient of the Presidential Award for Academic Excellence and a member of Nu Ypsilon Tau and Delta Mu Delta Honor Societies.
Jacquelyn received her CPA license in 1996 and has been a member of the Firm since 2001. In addition to her work with the firm, Jacquelyn has served on the board for various councils and is the past president of the Estate Planning Council of Suffolk County.
